Licensed Geriatric RNs
VA Palo Alto Health Care System requires the need of seven (7) 1.0 full-time-equivalent Registered Nurses (RNs) and six (6) 1.0 full-time equivalent Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), to provide services on site to beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) located within the VA Palo Alto Health Care System.
General:
- Services Provided: The Contractor shall provide seven (7) 1.0 full-time-equivalent Registered Nurses (Geriatric) (RNs) and six (6) 1.0 full-time equivalent Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), to provide services on site to beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) located within the VA Palo Alto Health Care System. Contractor personnel will have use of all required patient care equipment, supplies, and computer access for performing services required by this contract. All services shall be provided in accordance with the specifications, terms and conditions contained herein.
- At this juncture, all staff will be assigned to the Menlo Park facility with potential to be assigned to VAPAHCS main campus as need dictates.

- Authority: Title 38 USC 8153, Health Care Resources (HCR) sharing Authority.
2. Scope
The Palo Alto Healthcare System currently has a shortage of licensed practical nurses and registered nurses (Geriatric). The Contractor shall provide services necessary to perform onsite in community living centers to eligible beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs, the range of nursing assistant care as would be provided in a state-of-the-art civilian medical treatment facility and the standard of care shall be of the quality, meeting or exceeding currently recognized national standards as established by a state, territory, or commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the US or in the District of Colombia. All RNs will have completed an accredited training course in nursing through the State of California and be currently certified in Basic Life Support (BLS). All RNs and LPNs will have a current nursing license with no negative indicators. All RNs and LPNs will have a minimum of 2 years’ recent experience.
- Task Order Purpose - The Contractor shall provide contract personnel who are competent, qualified per this performance work statement and adequately trained to perform assigned duties.
- Contract personnel shall be responsible for signing in and out when in attendance. The COR will use time sheets to confirm hours/day, and services provided against the contractor’s invoices.
- The Contractor and/or contract personnel shall return required Background Investigation paperwork within 10 calendar days of receipt from the COR.
- Standards of Care: The contract personnel’s care shall cover the range of RNs and LPN services as would be provided in a state-of-the-art civilian medical treatment facility and the standard of care shall be of a quality, meeting or exceeding current national standards.
- The contractor shall provide contract staffing for 7 RNs (Geriatric) and 6 LPNs to provide nursing services on site in accordance with specifications contained herein to beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) located at VA Palo Alto Healthcare System (Palo Alto and Menlo Park campuses).

- Type of Contract. This will be a firm fixed price contract.

- Government-Furnished Information, Equipment, and Facilities. Contractor personnel will have use of all required patient care equipment, supplies, and computer access.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Staff/Facility
- Technical Proficiency: Contractor’s registered nurses and licensed practical nurses to be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the government’s requirements.
- including the ability to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently. Contractor shall provide documents upon request of the CO/COR to verify current and ongoing licensure, skills, and certification related to the provision of services performed.
- Contractor shall provide verifiable evidence of all educational and training experiences including any gaps in educational history for all Contractor’s registered nurses and licensed practical nurses. Contractor’s RNs and LPNs shall be responsible for abiding by the Facility's Medical Staff By-Laws, rules, and regulations (referenced herein) that govern the medical staff behavior.
- Training (VA MANDATORY): Contractor shall meet all VA educational requirements and mandatory course requirements defined herein all training must be completed by the contractor’s RNs and LPNs as required by the VA. Other training may be required. VA will communicate any changes to the training requirement to the contractor.
